Green Tourism High in Popularity

According to results of a survey of over 2500 travelers from around the world, green tourism made the top-3 list of travel trends, joined by concerns for germs and cell phone use on airlines.

According to results of a survey of over 2500 travelers from around the world, green tourism made the top-3 list of travel trends, joined by concerns for germs and cell phone use on airlines.

The survey, conducted by TripAdvisor, found that 26% of respondents claimed to be more “environmentally conscious” in their travel decisions in the coming year. According to the results, the trend is apparent in travelers’ choices of transportation and activities. For instance, 22% claimed to be interested in biking while on vacation this coming year; a 9% jump from last year, while 47% plan to go hiking, up from 43%.
