The inn is located on the site of one of New England’s first settlements (1623),in an environmentally sensitive area on the Connecticut River.
Some eco-friendly advancement include guestrooms that have been quipped with an energy management system to power the heating and cooling system based on occupancy, individual water-source heat pumps and a large heat exchanger (in the boiler room) that captures heat from the boiler. Also, the spa recently transitioned to B5 fuel, which includes 5 percent biodiesel.
Other steps include chemical-free cleaning systems, septic systems, enviromentally pool system, low-flow showerheads/toilets and electronic anti-bacterial methods.
