Marriott partners with Brazilian State of Amazonas to Protect Rainforest, develops a Green Five-Point Strategy
Marriott International, Inc. and the state of Amazonas have recently agreed to formally support the protection of 1.4 million acres of endangered rainforest, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation. Marriott has committed $2 million to fund the environmental management plan, which will be administered by the newly created Amazonas Sustainable Foundation.
