Upcoming social-spotlight series, 4Real, by MTV Canada, is set to shed some celebrity light on global community and environment issues, aiming to develop cultural and sociological awareness. Joaquin Phoenix, who also serves as Executive Producer of the upcoming program, met up with the indigenous Yawanawa tribe of the Brazilian Amazon in an effort to call attention to the plight of the Rainforest’s inhabitants.

The eight-part original Canadian series premiered Monday, April 14 at 8 p.m. ET. Other celebrities slated to take part in these specials are celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Eva Mendes, Casey Affleck, and Mos Def. The celebs embark on epic journeys to some of the most heartbreaking places on earth, including Haiti (with Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Liberia (with M.I.A.) to connect with inspiring leaders who are affecting positive change in their local communities.
