TO DO! International Contest on Socially Responsible Tourism
The future of tourism will depend heavily on whether it will develop in a way which is socially responsible towards the people in the destination areas. Therefore, tourism related projects and measures whose planning and realization ensure the involvement of the different interests and requirements of the local people through participation can be entered for the contest TO DO!

TOURA D’OR: Film Contest for Sustainable Tourism
The way how people decide for their holiday destination and their holiday attitudes are increasingly influenced also by the audio-visual media. The TOURA D´OR honours film productions which stand for a socially responsible, environmentally compatible and sustainable tourism.

Photo Contest: “Strange Things on Holiday”
So far, the contest has been announced once. It was addressed to German and Austrian holiday makers who had in 1996 or 1997 booked an organised trip to a oriental Mediterranean country. The submitted photos, comments and explanations provide interesting information about the awareness and realisation of experiences with strange things during a holiday trip. The material collected was assembled as an exhibition titled “Strange Things on Holiday”. It can be hired from the Studienkreis für Tourismus und Entwicklung (rental fee).For more information go Fotowettbewerb (German language only).
