Adventure travelers get an opportunity to experience, book and explore everything that is hot, interesting and unique in active, adventure and experiential travel this September 14-15 in Seattle, Washington.

This September 13-14, The Adventures in Travel Expo (ATE) will be hosted at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center and presented by The Seattle Times and the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. While the first morning’s events will be geared toward travel industry professionals, the event’s majority will be open to the general public and targeted toward travelers - giving consumers an opportunity to experience, book and explore everything that is hot, interesting and unique in active, adventure and experiential travel.

“Seattle is one of the largest media markets in the country with a high income population that is very involved with outdoor and leisure activities,” stated John Golicz, Unicomm’s CEO. “This is a great opportunity for travel marketers to expand market share in Seattle, which increasingly serves as a main gateway to the Asia/Pacific region and Canada as well as an emerging market for the Caribbean and Latin America.”

The event features individuals from National Geographic ADVENTURE magazine as well as world renowned travel experts and adventurers, with keynotes from Philippe Cousteau, founder of EarthEcho International and the grandson of Jacques Cousteau, travel industry legend Arthur Frommer, adventure travel activist and spokesperson Richard Bangs, National Geographic ADVENTURE speakers Peter Potterfield, Jon Bowermaster and the best-selling author Robert Young Pelton (“The World’s Most Dangerous Places” and “Licensed to Kill”).

Tickets  go on sale August 1, 2008 and the cost of admission is $12 per day for adults and free for children under the age of 12. To purchase a ticket, please visit www.adventureexpo.com/seattle. For questions, please contact (203) 878-2577 x100 or email info@adventureexpo.com.
