This year’s Live Earth event in India has been canceled due to last week’s attack in Mumbai, however, the organization, founded by Kevin Wall, has just launched a new online network to promote the global fight against global warming.

The Live Earth India Concert, scheduled for December 7th, 2008, has been canceled due to the recent tragedy in Mumbai. The now non-event’s ticket sales were to provide solar panels and solar lanterns for individuals without electricity throughout developing regions.

“Everyone involved with Live Earth India, from our U.S.- and India-based staff, artists and crew to our India-based broadcast, production, non-profit and marketing communications partners, is stunned and saddened by the tragic events of the past few days in our host city Mumbai,” said Live Earth founder Kevin Wall. “We always felt very welcomed and safe as we spent more time on the ground in Mumbai to finalize plans for Live Earth India, scheduled for December 7. Due to circumstances far beyond our control, we are saddened to announce that Live Earth India has been cancelled. We will continue to work for solutions to the climate crisis for the good of the people of India and around the world. But for now, our thoughts and our prayers are with the victims of this terrible attack, with the bereaved, with the people of Mumbai and with everyone in India.”

Apparently, Mr. Wall is true to his word regarding the organization to continue to fight global warming. The Live Earth organization announced today its latest endeavor, www.liveearthcampaign.com; a new online community where people can discover how they can fight global warming, work to bring balance back to our world and understand how individuals really can make a difference.

“People can make a difference, and it starts with one person,” said George Barrows, cofounder of Live Earth Campaign. “We are a community where people can learn what is organic and why that’ss so important to our world, embrace environmental science technology that can make a difference, and bring green ideas into their homes. Our goal is to promote a lively Internet community committed to global awareness about the threat that our planet faces, and to help people understand that on a personal level they can make a difference.”

At Live Earth Campaign, visitors will find news about global warming and how to fight it, reviews of new green, Earth-friendly products and services available to them, and a community they can join to share ideas about how to more effectively go green.

“We want to show people the positive impact of organic foods and products, that simple things they can do at home will make a difference, and that there’s a new community where they can share green ideas,” Barrows said. “If everyone in the world even recycled only one aluminum can a day, the impact would be huge.”

“Live Earth Campaign is not affiliated in any way with LiveEarth.Org,” Barrows added, and said that Live Earth Campaign supports every effort to keep our planet green.
