The boutique hotel property was built to meet GOLD LEED certification standards, and is the first completely environmentally sustainable hotel in the Shasta Cascade Region of Northern California complete with a spa, water features and a beautiful location near Shasta Lake.

Broughton Hospitality, the Newport Beach-based hospitality company, announced today that it has been awarded the management of the newly-opened Gaia Anderson Hotel in Anderson, CA, by owner Wen-I Chang, a social entrepreneur and world-renowned Green hotel developer. The boutique hotel property was built to meet GOLD LEED certification standards, and is the first completely environmentally sustainable hotel in the Shasta Cascade Region of Northern California complete with a spa, water features and a beautiful location near Shasta Lake.

Gaia, which means “Mother Earth” in Greek, offers discerning travelers an upscale alternative in lodging near the rugged wilderness of Lassen National Park and Mt. Shasta areas, as well as an emotional connection with nature on its ten acres of pristine natural setting. Nestled in the heart of the property is a swan and koi pond, featuring a bridge and a walking path, which was also designed as a rest stop for migrating birds. The property has 120 rooms and boasts a large fire pit, commonly referred to as the “Reconnection Circle,” for community and hotel guest interaction. In this location, guests and locals enjoy a variety of events including live music, yoga and art classes and environmental preservation education and activities.

For meetings and special events, the Gaia Anderson Hotel can accommodate up to 400 people with 6,200 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, state-of-the-art conference facilities and extensive catering services. The Gaia also offers a picturesque event lawn overlooking the Sacramento River, perfect for weddings and outdoor receptions.

Additionally, guests and locals alike can excite their palates at the Gaia Anderson’s newly-opened Swan Lake Bistro. With its contemporary and comfortable atmosphere, the Swan Lake Bistro promises exciting menus that proudly feature expertly prepared, hand-crafted cuisine made from locally grown ingredients by the farmers and ranchers of Shasta Butte County. Add to that a fantastic wine list from the indigenous and spectacular vineyards of Shasta, Butte and Trinity Counties and diners are sure to enjoy a unique culinary experience with a local twist.

The hotel was built by Wen-I Chang, a social entrepreneur and world-renowned Green hotel developer.

“We’re thrilled to add the Gaia Anderson to our portfolio of one-of-a-kind hotels,” said Larry Broughton, CEO, Broughton Hospitality. “With its spectacular setting, unique amenities and progressive approach to environmental sustainability, the Gaia will offer its guests a truly special experience during each and every stay.”
