Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore is reportedly working on a new book, “Our Choice”, to be released later this year. Probably the world’s most famous environmental activist, Gore plans to outline the world’s “next steps” toward a greener future.

With the success of his book “An Inconvenient Truth” and subsequent Academy Award-winning documentary of the same name, Al Gore has been consistently campaigning for the environment in an effort to embolden the world in the battle against climate change.

“Our Choice” is said to be a vague “sequel” to its successful predecessor, outlining Gore’s proposed solutions to the barrage of problems exposed in Truth.

“Our Choice” puts into practice Gore’s 40+ of experience as a student, policymaker, author, filmmaker, entrepreneur and activist to comprehensively describe the real solutions to global warming.

“’An Inconvenient Truth’ reached millions of people with the message that the climate crisis is threatening the future of human civilization and that it must and can be solved,” says former Vice President Gore. “Now that the need for urgent action is even clearer with the alarming new findings of the last three years, it is time for a comprehensive global plan that actually solves the climate crisis. Our Choice will answer that call.”

Our Choice draws on conclusions developed at over thirty “Solution Summits” attended by Gore and top scientists as well as on extensive independent research; describing how the bold choices necessary to save the earth’s climate should also be the foundations of policies worldwide to create new jobs and stimulate sustainable economic progress.

The Former U.S. Vice President is also the founder of The Alliance for Climate Protection, a nonprofit, nonpartisan effort and purveyor of the We Campaign,  a social media movement aimed at solving the climate crisis in part by converting America to 100 clean energy sources within 10 years.

Our Choice will be printed on 100% recycled paper, has locally produced and sourced editions, uses low VOC inks, and will be carbon neutral. As with “An Inconvenient Truth”, 100% of the proceeds of the book will go to the Alliance for Climate Protection.

Gore is also co-founder and Chairman of Current TV, an independently owned cable and satellite television network for young people based on viewer-created content and citizen journalism. A member of the Board of Directors of Apple Computer, Inc. and a Senior Advisor to Google, Inc. Gore is also Visiting Professor at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
